The Baby Joseph Case
Terry Rosell, DMin, PhD
Rosemary Flanigan Chair
Have any of you been following the Baby Joseph case in London, Ontario? I understand that Fox News is doing so. And I'm wondering if they might have a case to make this time.
The link is here.
What do you think? Would a tracheotomy in this child constitute an invasive act to "prolong his suffering for no good reason"?
What moral arguments could be made for, or against, doing so and enabling the parents to take Joseph home to (eventually) die?
Would or should a U.S. hospital ever take the stand reportedly taken by the London Health Sciences Centre?
